The meaning of urban space is from various daily activities. The diversity and tolerance of public space can be regarded as a city developmental indicator and we can know people's living space by environmental interaction or user behavior in different periods. Interaction between human and environment shows that space is not immutable. Due to practicing, the existing place will be adjusted gradually to what people like. The previous research and theory suggest that the social life as one of the most important functions of public space, and nowadays society of rapid change lead to diversity of behavior in public space, including the use of nonhuman. The most significant change is the dog runner increased apparently, people become the city of emerging the use of groups. For nearly twenty years, pet has been widely discussed in various domestic domain. However, the multiple relationships of people and pets on the public spatial context of discussion has been less. For this reason, it has its value to discuss.

The study take Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall and Zhongshan Park as an example, which is a national memorial space with Chinese type by intending for consolidating government power. However, Taiwan’s society towards democracy and plurality after martial law ended, and administration of the public space is not only by government but more opportunities for citizen participating. For nearly half century, the public through daily behaviors transform the inherent supply in existing environmental structure, then gradually create use patterns differ from origin. The dog runners are the most significant group of people here to reproduce public space and atmosphere in recent years. Therefore the main method based on behavior observation, interview, and supplemented by environmental psychology and social interaction theory to study behavior, social life and relevance of dog runner in public space. And also establish the theory of social space from interaction by human and dog at last.

The reaserch found that Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial supply substantial space to continue dog running, and dog runners also reverse changed strong political consciousness in Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall. The social space created by pet showed the people’s psychology and social life, and exposed the tolerance and sociality in the public space. The citizens remodel the public space they imagine, redefine the social environment of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial, and make it become a good place for dog running in Taipei, produce a new meaning. Moreove, I hope that this article can bring some enlightenment for landscape planners. In order to avoiding the design standardization, we should think the relationship between people and environment carefully, so that designers will create quality and functional space.
